2. Data we process
We may process account and identity data, professional profile information, startup or investor information, messages and connection activity, event and opportunity activity, verification material, support communications, device and security logs, preferences, consent records and data you choose to publish.
Some profile and startup information may be visible to other members or, where you choose a public visibility setting, to signed-out visitors.
3. Why we process data
We process data to create and secure accounts, operate member profiles, discovery, introductions, messaging, events, opportunities, moderation, verification, analytics, support, legal compliance and service improvement.

Account deletion requests are subject to the in-product cancellation period and may not remove records that must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal claims or statutory duties.

You may update profile visibility, discovery and contact preferences in Settings. The platform also provides account export and deletion request controls.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also contact the competent data protection authority.
8. Security
We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect data, including access controls, authentication, logging and restricted administrative operations. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
9. Cookies and similar technology
We use essential cookies and similar storage for authentication, session continuity, security and language preferences. Additional analytics or marketing technology will be used only where permitted and, when required, with appropriate consent.
10. Children
Balkan Sessions is intended for adults and professional users. It is not directed to children, and users must be at least 18 years old unless applicable law allows otherwise and the platform expressly approves the account.
